I'm all for new scopes. Indifferent about a new gun. If anything not the gun the players typically ask for. Disappointing road map. Half of the updates like a spy movie are "classified" and a 2025 road map where one of the updates is actually in 2026 so it's only three updates this year. The update article sounds like a political update. Lots of hype trying to create excitement but little or vague information.

Sadly, DayZ is moving away from being about survival with each update and increasingly being just another battle royale game.
Guns, guns and more guns. Containers with guns, more scopes for guns... Come on Dayz devs! Seriously?!
The environment needs work on to be more aggressive, zombies have to be more dangerous. Add new and stronger zombies.
Survival needs more hunting and fishing and less packaged food and cans everywhere.
Engaging into combat with other players must have consequences such as attracting lots of zombies from far away.

Currently zombies are harmless and easily ignored.
Leave the combat and weapons to the modders and officially work on the survival aspect of the game. If people want a battle royale or a war game go for modded servers, or better wet, go play arma3, call of duty, pubg... theres so many of them. Just leave it away from official servers.
The developers themselves forgot that the game is about surviving the apocalypse, not finding the new shinny gun and shoot everyone else
