So then why are the fortified walls facing inward towards the hole? Why build a fortress on top of a hole that has no strategic purpose? Yeah, this explanation is lacking to say the least.

It was placed in an area of no strategic value or interest. The Nazis were interested enough to house the SS there including a visit from Himler himself. The Nazis were only there for 6 years and yet there are German soldiers buried there. No one has ever found the bottom of the hole. I'd say the legends are very problematic.

There isn’t a water source, a kitchen, or housing quarters within the castle so it wouldn’t make for a great fortification

I won't bother watching your other videos now. With so many images of Houska available I'm not sure why you use random images of castles that are NOT Houska. There is only one pic of Houska in your video. Usually people "BUST A MYTH" with facts, yet you have no proof of anything you say. Fact: It was built over a cave, with no kitchen, no source of water (no well, no natural water source nearby). It was not on a trade route. It has no fortification such as walls or mote which are built to protect something inside. There is no written history of the person who actually build it, only assumptions based on the fact that Bezdez castle was built by Ottokar just a bit later than Houska. Czech writing actually speaks to who built it, if you do the research, but i won't give you that info here to have you benefit. It resembles a chateau only because it has been RE-BUILT a few times. Current owners also added windows and doors etc. as it came back into their possession in the 90's. There is a written record of it looking like a "castle" instead of a chateau in its early incarnations. It was a small castle when first built, Castles didn't always look the way we see them in Disney movies. There are covered rooms below Houska that no longer have access. The chapel has pagan symbols and LEFT HANDED centaurs...not something you see in chapels of the time. Or any time. Too many other fun facts to list. I was excited to find your channel, but now suppose it's just your random un-supported opinion and not a well produced "Myth "buster" channel based on facts. You could have in the very least used images of the actual castle instead of random wells, and castles/hallways. THESE ARE NOT EVEN IMAGES OF THE TOPIC. And the only actual images you use of Houska are after renovation how it looks today. I'm saddened that you have 700 subscribers who are signing up to hear AN OPINION masquerading as fact.

This is exactly what someone perpetrating a cover-up would say

It was built in 1200, not 1300 and it was literally built as a commission by the king at the dukes behest because of winged creatures terrorizing the countryside and its peoples coming out of the pit, I’m not sure where you gathered your misinformation from but it’s not hard to find the what’s and why’s…………the duke lowered a prisoner into the pit to report his findings and the man in his 20’s came back out of the pit in his 60’s and died 2 days later, hearing this the king gave his seal of approval on building the castle 🏰 additionally it is 30 miles from Prague so being a defensible location for any reason is silly, and housing nobles is even sillier when there are so many better fortified options, so the theory that it was a medieval panic room doesn’t hold up, considering what they found in 2016 and what the 3rd reich was trying to do I’d say it’s exactly what everyone says it is, and the history of the place is pretty solid…….

You are correct about being a fortification except you missed the fact that it's fortifications are facing inward and it has no running water, kitchen or living quarters. And why did the nazis take such interest in this particular castle?

What you said is a lie. It’s not even connected to any roads as such and holds no strategic value. Not then and not now!

Umm, I just watched a video about the history of Castle Houska. It dates back to 800AD and is STEEPED with "occurrences" that defy all scientific reasoning. That's including but not limited to, a bottomless hole beneath the castle chapel.

It doesn't even have a kitchen in it
