Ivan Panin

Pastor Brian Larson discusses the work of a Russian emigrant to the United States who, in the late 19th century, discovered numeric patterns in the text of the Hebrew and Greek Bible. Panin's work is another of many, many reasons that Pastor Brian is convinced that the Bible, all 66 books, are the inspired Word of God.

Most people have NO IDEA about how CAREFULLY the Bible was copied. Folks think it was done without EXTREME CARE! As a retired Electronics Technician, I discovered an interesting Bible fact I will tell you about: Copiers of the Bible in ancient days were called "scribes". When they copied a LINE of text, they were required to add up the NUMERIC value of every letter in that line.... then check the total to be sure it adds up to the same total as the original they copied from. If an error was made, then the whole page would be burned and buried! That is how carefully the scribes did their work. As an electronics technician I know something about DIGITAL DATA transmitted from one machine to another. It uses the same process. Every alphabet letter (and character) in a computer has a NUMBER (It is called the ASCii decimal hex chart). When a PACKET of data is transferred, then the receiving unit adds up the total of that packet and sends the total BACK to the originator. If the number total MATCHES... then both computers agree it is OK to continue to send a NEW packet of data! It is the same process used by the Scribes to verify it was copied PERFECTLY. In electronics, it is called the GRAY CODE (used for error detection). Thank you for your video on the subject of Ivan Panin.

Awesome Pastor Brian! I've looked into this also. Chuck Missler did a sermon about Ivan Pinans work. He called the 7's throughout our Bible the authentication of God's word. Unrefutable evidence of JudaoChristianity!

I have been reading about Ivan Panin and have his New Testament. I'm wondering if he has an Old Testament. I came across him ad I have spent a year preaching on the book of Galatians and came to the conclusion that there are no wasted words in Holy Scripture, thus the interest in Mr. Panin's work in the Old Testament. I have also wondered if he worked on the Apocrypha.

The hepdatic structure in the Bible is actually structural integrity of the text. That is, no one can change the text, without disturbing the underlying heptadic structure. I think it is God's way of preserving his writings. Changing one jot or tittle will disturb the underlying heptadic structure.
