As someone who's been watching Star Trek first run since TOS S3 on NBC (I was 6) - yeah, can't wait to see this show. This is the type of Trek (including being in the 23rd century era on the 1701) that I was hoping for back in 1987 when we got TNG. I eventually grew to accept TNG for what it was - and I've liked DS9 and ENT; and I VERY MUCH enjoyed the second season of Star Trek Discovery because of the 1701 actors and cast who all gave terrific performances - "If Memory Serves" was a fantastic 'valentine' of an episode to TOS fans (IMO😉)...but yeah, can't wait and very much looking forward to the May 5th premiere and beyond (Happy it got a 2nd season, although yeah, I'm sure the COVID situation played into quick renewal decisions for all current Trek series on P+; and hope it gets more!) Somone's been a little starstruck. 😂 I feel you tho! Very cool interview. You can tell by Anson's answers how much he invests into the show and how much it means to him. I also love the cute moment when his little daughter Clover spoke up and he got totally distracted. I cannot wait for the show to be released, hopefully I can watch it as I am outside the US. Fingers crossed. 🤞

My reaction at the end of episode 1 was about the same as the end of the TNG pilot premiere in 1987: joyful and ready for more. I never had that kind of reaction to the DS9, Voyager, or Enterprise pilots (although DS9 would eventually become one of my favorites, and I've recently started watching Voyager and am enjoying it tremendously).

I can't forget his role as Black Bolt, and if I heard his voice or he started to talk, I was kinda like ugh Black Bolt gonna destroy me!
