Rosie O’onnell was the first to start this salary inclusion. She made sure that every woman she worked with was paid correctly and fairly and never paid unfairly or short. She was pretty remarkable

Sharing salary was vital for me. I was at my job for about 6 years, had a BA degree and everything. I was pretty much the top employee for what I was doing. Two new employees come to me, recent college grads, their first "adult" job. They wanted to know if they were getting "low balled" with what they were being paid so they told me what they were making...they were earning $4k more than I was. So, I asked my boss why I didn't get a raise that year (never mentioned anything the coworkers said) and he made some excuse about how I got "a huge raise" the year before (it was a 4% raise so not huge) and budgets and stuff. I tried to make it work by applying for other roles but eventually, I left to work for their competitor where I was making $10k more!
