How to Beat David Popovici?

Olympic Gold Medal winner in the 200m Freestyle at the Tokyo Olympics, Tom Dean, describes to the Propulsion Swimming Podcast how he plans to beat David Popovici.

He talks about how he and his coach Dave McNulty are going to be breaking Popovici's freestyle stroke and see what lessons they can learn moving forward!

Tom is a very nice human being and a top athlete. Though, after Tokyo he will never manage to beat again Popovici, the Romanian is simply in his own eague.

I really wish the best for Tom! I will say however, he has a problem with believing that he can go times such as 1:42 or below, as seen in his comments with Brett Hawke. I’m glad he’s got David to push him, but he must think about going 1:41, rather than believing it’s impossible and allowing David to pass him.

Keep playing the efficiency game with yourself Tom. It's all about efficiency and figuring out how to generate that speed. It's often without the extra effort, it's in the relaxation. But you know that. Good luck!
