Demystifying HDR and how to shoot for it - Open Day 8th Feb 2017

As a filmmaker, incorporating HDR in to your productions today doesn’t require an equipment or infrastructure overhaul, in fact it’s the easiest transition you’ll have made. In most cases you will not likely even need a new camera. During this event, run in partnership with Atomos and Global Distribution, you will learn more about the science around HDR and the production processes involved. In practice you will learn about the devices available that make working with HDR effortless and affordable, and how by adopting HDR filmmaking practices today you can improve the quality and efficiency of your SDR (standard dynamic range) productions.

This is so wonderful. I've been looking for exactly this type of explanation and at this experience level. Super informative and answered so many questions I had about shooting, processing, and delivering HDR content.

There's so much marketing junk out there that getting down to the nitty gritty technical details is what you need to sort through all the crap and understand at a base level how everything works is what you need.

Nice presentation. Question; Can the Atomos recorder be used as an external hard drive to edit the footage in prores without the need to transfer to your pc or another hard drive to save time (assuming you want to risk having no backup should the drive fail)?
