Most “millionaires” aren’t driving expensive cars or shopping at Tiffany’s, that’s how they became relatively well off. Being a nominal millionaire in today’s economy doesn’t even make you “rich” anymore, it only means that you’re less likely to be destitute in retirement. We all know millionaires — they’re usually not driving expensive cars and living in huge houses, rather it’s the 12-year old Buick and same suburban house for 40 years....

I think posting the median income per state would be useful as well in determining the relative wealth in each area, or perhaps, the top decile or quintile.

Many are millionaires through property ownership, so they are not awash in cash until they sell.

Is it weird that I'm surprised Alaska made the list? I thought the cost of living there was very expensive because of the cold weather and isolation. Would love to go there one day.

If these millionaires are Net Worth millionaires then they are by definition quite wealthy people.

If however these millionaires are people who have a million Dollars or more in their possession but at the same time they have huge debts that cut into that wealth, then that is a different story and these people may well be struggling financially.

So what is the definition of a millionaire in this video? Is this video referring to Net Worth millionaires? If so, then these millionaires are wealthy.
