Euro 2024 Champions Spain arrive back in Madrid with trophy 🏆

Spain arrived back in Madrid on Monday a day after winning the European Championship for a record fourth time.

The team it will be greeted by Spain’s King Felipe VI and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez later in the day before partying with fans in the capital.

Spain had arrived in Germany with no huge stars and no real expectations.

Six weeks later, Luis de la Fuente’s team heads home with a European Championship title to celebrate and reason to believe in a bright future.

The youthful spark of Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams combined perfectly with the veteran poise of Rodri and other mainstays who had yet to win a major trophy as Spain completed its superb Euro 2024 with a 2-1 win over England on Sunday.

The key was making Spain a more dynamic and versatile attacking team to end a decade of “tiki-taka” misfires.

Even though Williams later rolled out the platitudes of enjoying the moment and going forward step by step, the Athletic Bilbao winger couldn’t help but look forward to the 2026 World Cup.

The euphoria was justified.

Spain won all seven games — with none going to penalties — and scored a record 15 goals at a European Championship.

And those victories came against the top traditional powers on the continent, as Spain downed Croatia and Italy in the group phase before eliminating Germany and France to reach the final.

Wow !! The immortals .They saved football once again .My gratitude for the spectacle the attractive football and the show of strength innovation and creativity.

De la Fuente has cemented his name among other greats and all praises to his immense courage in playing such a young talented squad based on merit and form. If it was not for his fortitude and wisdom we would have not had Nico Williams, Yamal, Olmo among others...Other managers tried to play the mind games about his squad being young inexperienced and lack the ability to play under pressure and he kept firm in his decision did not move an inch for he knew and had the trust on his players quality.

Even whith Pedri injured, Rodri out HT, Carvajal suspended, Morata criticised he still had the solution the clear plan mind and leadership to guide them without disrespecting opposition for he knew himself and his squad value and the world won with it.

While Foden and Kane were crying because of the pressure the criticism and Southgate was saying that the media the pundits commentators were affecting its players performance.

We rejoiced looking at Yamal and Williams younger players exuding confidence, having fun delighting the crowd ....No excuses.
England Neville making fun of Cucurella and Spain and look how Saka and Walker had a good old fashion spanking in the field....Cucurella had the last laugh and we all laugh with him at their expenses...

What a squad unique style .They were not the Spain of a thousand boring passes and possession of the past but a more direct in your face attacking football with intricate precise passing, pressing, dazzling tactics dribbles counter-attacking what a show!!

Spain pride restored this is the party that the British media cannot taint like they did with the women world cup win and the kiss....
This was clean efficient to the point no excuses total destruction ruthless demolition and dismantling of every opposition in many ways and angles.
