Just yesterday during testing for a new video I noticed GRUB didn't allow os-prober to run and detect another operating system. Here is how I fixed it.

Yes, making GRUB disabling OS Prober by default is a brilliant idea. I bet everyone will benefit from it.

I had very important files in my Windows disk so when I finished the Arch installation and didn’t find Windows 10 on the grub menu I started to hyperventilate 😂. Thanks alot for this, you are a lifesaver! Continue creating the good content!

Good video and info, Ermanno. I saw that same output yesterday when I was doing another Arch install to a vm. I thought “hey, I’ve never seen that Grub output line before.” Doesn’t bother me because I don’t use Grub to multiboot (I use a dedicated boot manager from Terabyte Unlimited), but your information is both interesting and helpful nonetheless.

Edit: btw I’d like to add that IMHO it’s better that os-prober is disabled by default. In many instances it’s better that you don’t want your new install to see other physical disks in the system.

Hey, actually I had a different problem where Windows partitions aren't detected. Then I had to install *ntfs-3g* driver. This is completely different!

Thanks for updating us. I'm aware of your health issues. Just fully recover and then, get back to the amazing work :)

Hi Ermanno, it might be worth pinning a comment to some of your older dual boot tutorials. Just concerned someone watching them might run into issues and not know what to do.

Intereseting, it tells me that it added it, but when I reboot I still don't see windows on grub
