NGOs say EU has double standards for refugees

Five million Ukrainians have fled the conflict in their country in just two months. And Europe’s solidarity in the face of the refugee crisis has been widely applauded. But rights groups say it stands in stark contrast to the policies and treatment of other people fleeing more distant wars. Rahul Radhakrishnan sent us this special report from the Polish city of Lublin.

For the past 30 years, our countries have already been filled with migrants.

Why do we keep migrants from other countries?
Countries where there has long been peace, and even with areas that are markedly different from European culture and identity?

We welcome Europeans, goodbye migrants from the Middle East and Africa.

Ukrainians have the European culture and way of life, that's the first and the most important point. Secondly Ukrainian come with passport, they don't need visa. Third, they are really refugees and most of them will go back home and don't remain in the EU.

Belarusians beat them, not Polish. Poland is very cautious with accepting people from far-away countries because we got to stop many terrorists from ISIS pretending to be refugees. In my opinion, I would take all of them, did a very detailed background check and see if they are eligible to receive an asylum. If they are, they would get it. If not, they will be sent back to their country. I just wonder, there are many countries around Iraq which are safe, with similar culture, religion. Why those refugees don’t want to apply for the asylum there? Ukrainians apply for the asylum in the nearest country which is safe, Poland. Those people come here from very far away. Is the EU the only option for them?

Very sad and also toally believable. However, if Ukraine gets fast tracked into he EU then those Ukranian refugees wil have the right to remain under free movement which will undoubtedly have knock on consequences, not least the flood of weapons floating around in that region and the far right movement gaining a firmer footing.

Still have to explain why the world are being so careful and alert when accepting Muslim refugee.
One of the reason is bad track record. We still haven't forget how they beheaded a teacher for teaching secularism with a cartoon and break a local shop for selling alcohol in French. 2 days ago, the Rohingnya refugee just launch a mass escape in Malaysia's custody while they illegally enter the country (We took in refugee but we have SOP for refugee to come in, so any other method of coming in are actually trespassing)
