you didn't even show us how to do amdahls law here.. just showed us how to work out iron law and then just left us to our own devices to try and work out how amdahls law works.. cheers for that!

Hi there! great video's, but i'm not achieving the same result. could you please check my attempt.

BEFORE ENHANCEMENT
(0.4x1 + 0.2x4 + 0.3x2 + 0.1x3) = 1.9
50B x 1/2B = 25
BEFORE EXECUTION TIME OVERALL = 1.9x25 = 47.5

AFTER ENHANCEMENT
(0.4x1 + 0.2x2 + 0.3x2 + 0.1x3) = 1.5
AFTER EXECUTION TIME OVERALL = 1.5x25 = 37.5

OVERALL SPEEDUP = 47.5 / 37.5 = 1.267 ? -> NOT 1.24


AND APPLYING AMDAHL'S LAW

AFTER EXECUTION TIME OVERALL = 37.5
AFTER EXECUTION TIME BRANCH = 0.4 -> 0.4x25 = 10

% BRANCH = 10/37.5 = 0.267
1-BRANCH = 0.733

SPEEDUP = 1
= 1.1540 ?
0.733 + 0.267
