We sang this for our closing song in sacrament meeting yesterday in honor of a woman in our ward who passed away tragically. I love the phrase “I sing because I’m happy. I sing because I’m free.” It was the perfect way to describe her. She had the most beautiful voice and was always singing. She was always caring, always giving, and always looking out for others. She was a friend to everyone she met wherever she went and we’ll all miss her deeply. Love you always, Kerilyn.

I was 8 years old when my great grandma and i had our daily devotionals together, morning and night.
She sang this hymn, in Spanish, and i watched her as her eyes would overflow with tears of gratitude for the Lord's tender and faithful love for us!✨
I have loved it my whole life...i am almost 70 years old and its lyrics comfort me and I feel His presence with me as I sing...
