I agree with Steve at 7:17. The NHL needs to put a new rule where coaches have a time limit (preferably 45-60 seconds) to either make a challenge or let the restarting faceoff go. Hence any stalling beyond that time limit should be a delay of game penalty.

I remember back in January between the Oilers and the Devils, there was a similar situation, where the Oilers scored a goal on a delayed penalty, but the Devils thought they’d touched the puck. So New Jersey challenged the call, or at least they tried to. After nine minutes, the officials come off of the headsets, declare it’s a non-reviewable play, the challenge doesn’t count, and we’ve just wasted nine minutes of your time. I’m pretty sure it made Dang-Its that week.
