Without fossil fuels our major transportation systems, including trucking, rail and sea transportation of goods, depend greatly on fossil fuels. Without diesel and bunker fuel, large-scale international trade would have no choice but to shut down.

Natural resources such like wood as well as beasts of burden (horses, oxen, carabao) would be used badly.

Thesis:

According to the “Black Box Theory”, you cannot produce an energy gain by burying deceased non-living plant and animal matter.

The Black Box Theory proves that energy gain is not possible simply by burying it in the ground. The issue of energy transfer is not covered here, however that would only result in a lesser amount of energy transfer regardless of the efficacy of the transfer.

I’m interested in how it is possible to extract an energy greater than those initially deposited by liberating fossil fuels from beneath the surface of the Earth?

The burning of fossil fuels might make the planet Earth warmer, or colder or have no impact on the average temperature of the planet Earth whatsoever as it is currently in 2023, take your pick. However the Earth will never be warmer or colder than is was when these plants or animals existed.
