Earlier this year, we flew to Los Angeles to learn about the making of Mina The Hollower, Yacht Club Games’ new Game Boy Color-inspired follow-up to Shovel Knight. Following the studio’s successful Kickstarter earlier this year, we shed light on Mina The Hollower’s origins as developer Alec Faulkner’s side project, how he pitched the game to the Yacht Club, and ultimately, how the team hopes to deliver a game as prolific as Shovel Knight.

Seems like a NoClip style documentary, which I'm always up for.

Love the shot of the Playdate. There's even a game on there that feels a bit like Mina, just less Yacht Club-y. So pumped for this game.

Can we get a longer version of this please? 😊

Really wish it looked more NES-adjacent like Shovel Knight... Game Boy/GB Color was not an aesthetic, it was a compromise. Also, the blatant theft of Links Awakening assets is disheartening for me in Yacht Club.
