How the hell can these people decide what pain does to an individual and how much works so a person can function in society. Should be an individual basis but now doctors are under prescribing and sending people to therapy and physical therapy. People are now taking the OTC meds in large amounts causing health problems that didnt exist before. I just read an article that heroine and fentanyl deaths are rising. Patients cut off are going to the street now in desperation. Congrats! They just created more problems and responsible patients are now suffering.

America is no longer free, when these people can tell doctors what to prescribe without even studying about chronic pain patients..

“What do you mean by weaponization” 😐 is she serious? Love how she giggles while talking about torturing people living in pain. These ppl still act like pain patients are the cause of ODs

Why are drug addicts lives seen as so much more valuable and more worthy of saving vs. chronic pain patients?

You say the tapering of patients was NOT the intention of the CDC guidelines... Well, guess what? That backfired! Almost every doctor in America is tapering their patients!!! Everyone involved in putting these guidelines together is at fault for the millons of pain patients suffering and the deaths of those who have used suicide as a way to manage their pain!

You knew what the guidelines would cause. Washington legal foundation tried to get you to stop pushing this agenda and you didn't! Even the PR firm you hired told you the guidelines were a mistake and you didn't care!

You let people like Andrew Kolodny, (and others), who do NOT treat pain patients and are NOT pain management doctors have input into the guidelines. You put your choice group together in secret and didn't care to include pain patients, pain doctors, pain associations or pain advocates. You screwed up!

You should have revoked the CDC guidelines at your recent meeting, but you decide to make everyone wait till 2021 before you address the damage you've done to patients and their families. You are all sick, twisted, sadistic individuals who knew the terror you were going to cause in the pain community! All of you should be ashamed of yourselves!

Many patients had good relationships with their doctors, NOT "challenging" relationships as you say in this video. But, because of YOUR Guidelines, they have lost their good relationships with their doctors. Many doctors are being harassed by US government agencies, like the DEA, to stop or strictly limit prescribing to patients who need medication for pain relief because of your guidelines. The CDC guidelines for prescribing opioids for Chronic Pain have caused extensive damage to everyone in the pain community, and all of you should be held accountable for damage you have caused!

I'm ft 6'4 and 300lbs and 40yrs old I've been taking opioids for chronic pain for 13 years for severe lumbar spine damage and Klonopin for my seizure disorder for even longer(90 mg morphine a day and 6mg Klonopin a day). What bothers me is that the cdc says that one size fits all at 90mme, so I'm grouped together with a little 120lb girl with absolutely no tolerance and meanwhile everybody gets the same max dosage regemin, I just don't understand their way of thinking.Narcotic pain management should be tailered to fit each individual period not this one size fits all crap, I hope the people who came up with this max 90mg morphine a day crap suffer severely in the last months of their life.

The people who put these laws and kangaroo studies in place to stop chronic pain patients from being treated appropriately will never have issues with getting opiates for their chronic pain.

Why the hell is a psychiatry major, who doesn't even work actively in the field and is a researcher and can't even prescribe medication trying to dictate if I am allowed to live or die?

Why are you punishing the chronic pain patients, they are not drug addicts. What are they to do now??

These people making these guidelines need to answer to someone for how bad they are messing chronic pain patients lives up. There is absolutely no oversight in all of these govt agencies, they just keep doing what they want with no one to answer to. If you ask me, they are operating on a criminal level and the chronic pain patients in this country need to file a huge class action suit against the CDC. They say they are guidelines, but where I live the DEA is e forcing the CDC guidelines like they are the law, it isnt right.

CDC all but killed me with this mandate. I was on 360mg of oxycodone for 14 years before mandate and now I live in torture at 180 mg. STop this mandate before it gets me ! The pain is too much even at 180mg.

My experience with chronic pain is the reality of the dismissal fate when its left to prevail in one's life. There is a psychological element that could very well take me out. I know I must LEARN to live with the pain and accept it as a part of my existence. I will take it to my grave or it will put me there in its own insidious manner. Opioids too may take me out. They can also give me back some measure of quality to my life. I am a sovereign individual who takes that responsibility seriously. If these assholes along with the abusers want to play games then FUCK 'UM!

So because addicts are abusing pain medication people that have chronic pain have to suffer???
Is the CDC going to go out and pull all the illegal medications off the streets because that’s where the real problem is
Karma is a terrible thing

Who do they have in that room? None of them thought this was controversial? How about getting some chronic pain patients in the room? If you still think it’s is the “Land of the Free” you are a fool.
