I just realized that this scene in Episode 8 is the complete antithesis to Asuka’s final battle in End of Evangelion.
In this scene Asuka is jumping on top of boats while in EoE she lifts a boat. This episode introduces her into the series while in EoE that fight is her last battle before she “dies”. Also, the reason Asuka jumps from one boat to another is to connect her power cable. This is paralleled in EoE where her power cable gets broken. This caused her to lose power, preventing her from jumping out of the way of the Lance of Longinus or ejecting.

Just thought that was strange yet kinda cool, how both scenes have similar attributes but the events do a complete 180 on its head.

I would pay an artist for doing a work like that = Asuka with Shinji in Unit 02 on the carrier vs Godzilla in a fist punch to bitch slap back.
