This video shows complete simulation and optimization in HEC HMS for beginners step by step. First process is completed in ARCGIS USING HEC GEO HMS and ARC HYDRO TOOL. Then it is imported in HEC HMS.
While running model, you may encounter multiple errors. Some error occurred in this video also. So you will learn also to eliminate them.
Importing and feeding rainfall input is shown in previous video and this is the continuation of previous video as follow:
Following are shown in this video:
-input discharge data in discharge gage
-Meteorological method includes:
Evapotranspiration
-loss method is used
-Base flow of recession is used
-Muskingum is used for routing in reach/stream routing
-Clark method is used for catchment routing
Finally the model is simulated.
Results obtained:
-Hydrograph at each reach, junction, subbasin
-Calculation table at each reach, junction, subbasin
-Summary table at each reach, junction, subbasin
These can be viewed in the "Result" tab.
Then the model is optimized.
For optimization, certain parameters are given along with their maximum, minimum value, step, iteration number
To create new optimization, you don't need to add all parameters from beginning. Instead you can copy the previous optimization and make necessary changes.
That will be run which is selected in "Compute" tab.
If you select "RUN 1" in compute tab, "RUN 1" will be run.
Optimization gives graph, calculation table, summary table at each junction, subbasin, reach and optimized parameters. All these can be viewed in the "Result" tab.
