One of the most solid feeling and flying twins ever made. Flew a lot of them before I got an airline job (which I retire from very soon). Loved the Barons and if I win the lottery I’ll buy one.

Well if there's one thing I've learned from this series it's that anything that isn't a fixed gear single engine piston would almost certainly be outside of my price range if I decided to get into flying.

I'd like to see a Piper Twin Commanche, also +1 for a Diamond DA62 or 42

I must amend my earlier comments on which 55s had crap airboxes. I just seen a video of a D55 that had the good ones (I have never seen one) and it's possible the C55 with it's IO-520s also had the good ones but I have only seen and worked on only one of those. If the cowlings have a scoop on the top at the back, those are the good airboxes.

All A and B 55 Barons have garbage intake airboxes. I have worked on some of the oldest to the newest. Until the E55 got 58 airboxes they are impossible fixes unless you don't use them. I have tried everything and seen many attempts but have never found a solution after 30+ years of trying. Just keep them off of the dirt strips. Other than that they are fantastic machines! I love flying them.

Bought one largely after watching this. Thanks, let you know if the costs are in the same ballpark!

Thanks for these videos! I want to keep family history of flight going and will be getting license soon. The trick is now I have three small kids so a four seater is less of an option. Also I would benefit from being able to make a 900 mile (one way) flight for business monthly in addition to shorter trips to the beach & Mexico. Speed would be very nice on that 900mi trip perhaps even up and back in one day. Lower cost to buy is more attractive than variable cost as I can expense the variables easily. I expect to fly 100-120 hours year. If I can get 5-10 years (say 1000-2000 hrs) out of an older plan that might be my way to go. Now that you have done the B55 can you do a couple more videos on other 6 seaters? Beech Duke 60? Piper Lance? Cessna 310Q? Piston twin or single. Considering Kit built as well. Again Great job!
