School Bus Safety Videos

BACK TO SCHOOL! Everyone's favorite time of year! The new fall clothes, the smell of old textbooks, the squeaky chair in the back of the classroom. Ahh, the memories.

This year is gonna be a little different for a lot of people with many schools having virtual classrooms. Kids learning from their bedrooms, teachers trying to educate via webcams while still having to cater to various different students' needs, and most importantly, bus drivers with no kids to transport. So I thought it might be fun to have a look at some old school bus safety videos. Not sure how any of this really correlates but I was told by a rep at YouTube that having some sort of explanation of the video in your description helps with SEO better than simply having links to your other social media pages. So yeah, we're looking at bus safety videos.

My elementary school bus driver, Mr. Ron, was the kindest human being I have ever met. He woke up early/stayed late to drop certain kids off at their individual houses (which were in sketchy areas), he gave us all candy/presents on every major holiday so no one felt left out (based on home situations), he talked to shy/lonely kids & paired them up with outgoing kids to help them make friends, and waited for us to go inside our houses before he drove off. Sadly, his wife was diagnosed with cancer right before I started 5th grade, and he had to leave. But even now (at 23 yrs old), I’ll never forget his kind and loving heart. You’re a rockstar Mr. Ron! I hope you are happy and doing well wherever you may be.

I had a bus driver, he was the sweetest man. I got him a coffee cup with a lid for Christmas so he was able to drink his coffee while driving us around, and about a week later he came by my house and gave me and my sister a GIANT BAG OF HOMEMADE SNICKERDOODLE COOKIES. I miss that guy. :(

Speaking of bus drivers, in my senior year of high school I rode on the short bus that was reserved for out of district kids since I took classes that weren't at the closer high school. All of us on that bus were all pretty chill with the driver but I talked with her a lot since I sat pretty close to the front, and on the last day of high school she gave me a nice greeting card with a $20 in it as I was getting off of the bus at my house. She was the REAL bus pope.

Shoutout to my middle school bus driver Robbie, she was awesome, she did Free Candy Fridays every week, handed out huge goodie bags to everyone on her 3 bus routes every holiday, and hosted a bunch of fun creative contests every year. My family owns a store, and she actually came out and visited just to say hi and check it out cause she remembered me mentioning it. Shoutout to you, Robbie, you were the best!

I drove a school bus in my late 20's. The hardest part of that job was not laughing at some of the shit the kids did, because I was "the adult".

My first bus driver would take all the kids on her route out for ice-cream at the end of the school year. She sent home permission slips and everything. She was strict, but man, did the kids respect her. When she retired, the ride home after school was never anything less than chaos.

I was homeschooled, so I never rode buses as a kid, BUT I would run in the morning and one day I was running and as I was heading back home, there was a big dog at a house and I was kind of worried it was gonna bite me cuz it wasn't chained up...I didn't know what to do, but then the school bus came along and the bus driver saw I was in trouble and let me on and then I got off at the next stop. So thank you bus drivers, at least one of you is pretty epic.

I had the same driver for all 13 years of school. His name was Mr. Rogers and yes, he would sing it's a wonderful day in the neighborhood.
