"Maybe You Should Talk to Someone" is SO good because it's about a therapist, her therapist, and their insights about mental health & what a good therapist looks like. I so highly recommend listening to this - the narrator is incredible - and trying therapy for yourself.

If therapy is out of your budget, check if your city has low-cost cooperatives or if a local therapist has a sliding-scale payment option!

I graduate high school this June and I suffer from severe anxiety and wasn’t able to even attend school in person last year, I found your channel this year and have been doing much better and would even try to remember phrases you would say in videos to get me through school thank you ❤

I wish therapy wasn’t so expensive and that insurances would cover more. So many people need therapy and can’t afford it which is so sad 😭

If you actually learned about your own mental health and actually spent time thinking introspectively about yourself WITHOUT consuming any media written by someone else, you make much larger strides with your mental health. Believing that reading some book will fix your specific problems is part of the reason you continue to struggle with mental health. Learning what you want and what makes you feel good by yourself without any external forces is ultimately what will bring you the most peace. You will never get better by reading someone else’s words. You need to say your own. How could you improve if the thoughts are someone else’s? They have to be YOURS. When they are your thoughts that you are able think up on your own, you will be able to control your mental health so much better. If you feel you need to go and consume something else, that feeling that you need to read something or listen to someone else to feel better is definitely part of the reason why you never do. People need to spend enough time completely with their own thoughts and ideas to learn enough about themselves, so that when they do experience mental health issues, which is inevitable, they are able to fix them by themselves with their own ideas.

Nice I was just looking for my next book, I just finished what happened to you? By Oprah and Bruce Perry MD explains the questions I’ve had of unknown triggers to my anxiety and panic disorders. This might be a good one for my partner if I approve first! Lol ty!
