I will run you through some testing I was performing on my EcoFlow Delta Pro with Dual Voltage Hub setup where I was trying to charge the batteries during the day with only solar power. This is in an attempt to use these 2 Delta Pro units as a feasible multi-day power backup system for my home.

I like the delta pro except how the hub is connected and that it can’t auto start when battery levels go below the threshold and charged back up. What I mean is if you drained the battery overnight it would shut off and when the sun comes out the delta pro could charge back up to 100% but the delta pro doesn’t restart without human intervention. This is a must have so I may lean toward building a DIY system.

I'm not getting solar soon but this is good info to have for when I eventually get it.

It would be cool to see those helien solar panels connected directly to a EG4 Hybrid Solar Mini-Split Air Conditioner Heat Pump. Something I am planning to do in my future home.

This can be a great idea for DIY something many people can do If they can design a system like this running on electric generators with solar panels you have one cable that’s plugged into the panel and done, nothing complicated. Instead of a confusing solar system that’s way over priced with many parts that need to be connected a certain way.

Great video. Love this unit. My biggest issue is the lack of solar input. 1600 watts of solar for 10600 wh is terrible. For the unit itself is fine but adding the extra batteries is a bummer. 7 hours of charging is not enough time. & that's perfect sun no clouds, no storms, etc. We will hardly ever have perfect skies. This should of had at least 2400 watts of solar. & voltage should be higher. I really dislike over paneling and can't even use the full wattage because of the limits.

Ok. Well I just watched your video on wire gauge. So I’m looking at using 230-250 v panels. With 8.27A and 30.3V going out. So running in series I’d be using 2 (60.6V and 8.2A) and I could connect 2 of these in series with 120 V and 16+A, but only 920w leaving me short roughly 600watts from 1600. Right ? I’m a carpenter, and a medic, so if it’s out of wood, I can build you anything, literally anything. If it’s dying, Im pretty good at that too. Electrical is voodoo to me. I foresee myself waking up on my back on the concrete smoking a bit. 😂

Something to consider. My house has 9000 watts of grid tied solar, If I was to connect my Ecoflow pro's to my panel with the interlock. If it tricked my Ephase inverters to turn on it could fry the Ecoflow. I don't think you can push 9000 watts into the Ecoflow inverters. That's why a critical load panel makes more sense. Oh and tell Ecoflow that the MC4 adaptor wire size is to small. I can feel mine getting warm at 1, 100 watts 15 amps.

4 Eco flow delta smart extra battery add great 👍

My question is, if you happen to have only 12 200w panels hooked up in series/parallel to support 2400w for the best method for 1 delta pro because they can in fact handle being over powered in terms of wattage, Then I add a 2nd delta pro to the be hooked up with a Y cable for the 2400w to be divided between the 2 delta pros.
I know there would be the balance issue but Logically it seems like it would still send 1200w to each delta pro.

In theory would this work?

After a year with 2 Delta Pro + 2 extra batteries I have to say " Stay away from it "
1) after 2 months dual hube give up, they sent me new one and I return the damage one (5 stars)
2) last month I have error code 79 system shutdown : solar charge drop from 1600W max to 1280W, 12 volt out put dead, battery drain uneven.
I still have full 2 year warranty but EF offer only for repair not temporary replacement and all reply take days .
I just spend $7K for EG4 6KW 240volt inverter 15KW battery that is much cheaper than 2 Eco Pro + 2 extra battery ( +/- $11K )

What happens if you use parallel? From experience, used 4 panels that are greater than the battery recommend. However the ecoflow delta adjusted accordingly. Using series, increased the voltage which can in return fry the xt socket.

Ty. So why buy 2 units when you could of bought one Delta pro 3. And save some money.

I have a question fellas, once a ecoflow is fully charged and then I put it away turned off how long can it stay charged in the closet. Also that areas in summer gets up to 90 degrees inside the home.

Do you use safety devices like dc surge protection?

With all the money spent, you could install a grid tied solar system with battery backup and save on your energy bill monthly

You may want to review your energy consumption and figure out why your energy use is so high (minimum of 20 - 25kWh per day, during the winter with no AC load). Do you have a very large house and family or are you charging an electric car? Conservation is a lot cheaper than more panels and battery capacity. Have you replaced all incandescent bulbs with LED, replaced appliances as they fail with EnergyStar rated ones, and eliminated typical energy hogs (old fridge in the garage, etc.)? Without an electric car, our low days are more like 10kWh. Multizone mini split for heat / cooling, and all appliances are electric (water heater, dryer, range, etc.).

You can use the generator even when is charging?

You would have had a much higher surge capacity for powering your home's high inductance loads such as full sized refrigerators, large power tools, portable AC units. EV charging or large microwave ovens if you had purchased a hybrid, low frequency, transformer based inverter charger and a set of LFP batteries instead of these cheap, high frequency, transformerless solar generators. You would also have a far longer service life as well.

The reason for this is that all of these lightweight, high frequency inverters lack a very critical component. That critical component is an iron core, copper wound output transformer. Without an output transformer to act as a buffer to absorb electrical surges provided by the “Flywheel Effect” inherent in the physical amount of a transformer’s iron, these surges and damaging reverse voltage spikes must be handled directly by the inverter’s MOSFET transistors, essential shortening their life.

You might be able to start and run some high surge loads when these high frequency inverters are new, but every time you fire up one of those inductive loads, you're shortening the life of the MOSFETs in the inverters in these solar generators. Lightweight. high frequency inverters run much hotter than low frequency, transformer-based inverters which makes the low cost, off spec, Chinese made components such as capacitors, diodes, resistors and ICs that are used in the cheap inverters that are used in these inverters, far more prone to early failure.

Another major consideration with these lightweight, high frequency, transformerless solar generators is safety. All it takes is for the AC output monitoring circuitry to fail and one of the MOSFETs in the inverter's H-Bridge circuit to short to ground, and these inverters can dangerous, high voltage, high amperage DC current straight to your connected AC loads which will not only damage most AC appliances but can also set those AC appliances on fire. With over 24 years in the inverter repair industry, I would never recommend a high frequency solar generator for use in a residential application. They don't last, and these non UL-1741 safety certified units can be dangerous.

Hello, can you send me a link for the solar panels? Or cut and paste the exact description of the panels?

Ngl im concerned with these products whenNO ONE ON THE INTERNET WILL FILM A 0-100% FULL SOLAR CHARGE WITHOUT BECOMING AN MIT ENGINEER!!!
