People who weren't even alive in the 90's and never watched the games live on TV...are now running a campaign to downgrade the era. The audacity is outlandish. 😂

Lebron james fanbase is so toxic they are trying to disrespect countless legends just to desperately try and prop up their fake goat. Its a new low for them.

as a human who was born in 88, i could say 90s is better than 2020s, not just in the NBA but in society itself.
Technology taken away the beauty of mother nature, the focus and empathy of people, and lots of people now have platforms to VOICE THEIR TOXICITY.
That time, there was BALANCE in nature and technology, balance in offense and defense, balance in basketball and business side.

Only 5 players played 82 games in 22 that’s SAD!

2020s : era of traveling, carring, flopping, road management, no defense

What made the 90's the golden age of basketball was the tough rugged defense that was allowed in the game just like a hockey team. Actual rivals and players who actually wanted to compete. In today's game players have to much privilege to do whatever they want but that will soon be their downfall as the years go on.

As someone who grew up watching Kobe in the late 2000s-early 2010s the nba is a lot worse now then it was back then lol

That’s a good point you made about scoring, not being that complicated, the less moves you do to score the more effective you are.

The funny thing is there’s only ONE player who changed the game and elevated it globally, that left such a large impression on the NBA universe and its fans so DEEP! That 20+ years later his merch is still being bought today, worn today and even collected as rare collectible items. And that ONE player is #23 Michael Jeffrey Jordan. He was the reason arenas were sold out, opposing teams had no other option than to respect his game….the 90s was a special era..

That double clutch reverse dunk by a just-past-his-prime MJ from 1996 is better than any play from the past 24 years.

Almost EVERYTHING used to be better, not just basketball. Honestly, the argument is really more about the overall collapse of society and the destruction of human imagination/spirit, and things like that lol

I think most people are having 2 different arguments. If we're talking evolution of the skills, then obviously the most current has the advantage of past skillsets to build upon.
However, the NBA is a professional sport and that means FANS have to ENJOY it. If they're not, then that would equate to the product being worse. The 90s was the height of the game's popularity. That matters a lot.

People who say “we done with the 90s” like Gilbert arenas should give back the money they got paid for because without players like Magic and bird saving the nba in the 80s because of their rivalry, there might not be an NBA today. Charles Barkley once said that if it wasn’t for Michael Jordan, he wouldn’t be making millions.

the scary thing about this is that more and more people, especially young basketball fans/players actually believe the "we done with the 90s" shenanigans

90s had a mixture of it all. Skill, fundamental, athleticism, defense, high iq, rule of thumbs (don't come to the hole too much, don't get too hot behind the 3 get touched up), chemistry, loyalty, passion. Same talented players ppl talk about today would not be the same if they played in the 99s we all are on that, so how good r they. We also agree that the 80s &90s players stats would increase if they played in this era, so are they Even equal.

I'm watching Bill Simmons' Rewatcha Bulls and the actual games, the intensity and defensive effort was crazy, crowds were lit, refs kept the fame moving. All things betterthan today.

The only current team that has some of the 90s teams qualities is the Nuggets

Bring back the offensive foul and the hand checks, enforce rules on traveling and carrying, and get rid of the 3-pointer. I want to see a superstar who, like Bird or Jordan, can score effectively in spite of a solid defense and participate in a solid defense on the other end of the court, rather than modern superstars who get ignored by defenses or flop if they aren't, then phone it in on the other end - when they decide not to "load manage", that is.

List goes like this: 90s, 80s, 2000s. The fact that some think the modern NBA is the greatest because of how ”skilled the league has become” is honestly hilarious. Great video as always.
