60 Years of the University of Strathclyde

The University of Strathclyde has a rich history that dates back to the Enlightenment era, when it was founded in 1796 by Professor John Anderson as a place of useful learning. This year we celebrate our Diamond Jubilee marking 60 years since the award of our Royal Charter that made Strathclyde the UK’s first technological university in 1964, with a focus on innovation, collaboration and the delivery social and economic value as part of our DNA.
