A short, clear, effective presentation. Thanks! If you solve the background noise problem, or if the production company will, please keep us informed (inform us). Good luck in the future!

Would love to see the follow up video! This is a big topic and issue for these monitors, many people like me are nervous to buy because of the noise, so if you were able to provide an improvement modification that would be huge! Thanks

I’ve Have Had These Speakers For 2 Years Now, They Are Honestly The Best Studio Monitor Speakers Ever Made In History For Sound Quality & Bass & I’ve Never Heard Any Audio/Sound Distortion At All Even At Full Volume. Great Video !

I had exactly the same problem with hiss. Really liked them otherwise. Hope you can fix it with the faraday cage. I'm interested to see the result!

all speakers will have hiss because of powered amps inside, my hs8's speakers and even my smaller woofer krkrocket 5 have an hiss when putting ears close to the speakers, to reduce the hiss your are better off placing the speakers further behind your table on speaker stands where they are supposed to be for proper use, this is why krk will not fix this issue anytime soon, its because all these powerful studio monitors are supposed to be placed further back and not so close to your ears in the first place, and in your case you own a huge 10inch midfield monitor so you should place it even further back than a smaller nearfield monitor.

Good review, it's not the first time this hiss from the Krk speakers has been mentioned, I am surprised the company has done nothing about it, I see other reviews on these and no one mentions thus hiss, this does make you wonder if that person is getting freebies from the company? It's a valid question to ask .

I’m a video editor and I’ve had these speakers for 6 months now. I’ve never heard any hiss or distorsion on my speakers. The sounds comes from my Macbook Pro (usb C) to my Focusrite Scarlett Solo (3rd gen) with balanced cables (XLR - TRS) to the speakers. I’m curious what audio interface you use. Looking forward to seeing if and how you can solve the issue. Great video!

Not so fast. For starters, these are more like midfield range untis, so you should never be sitting under 1 meter from them. Absolute minimum listening distance should be 1.5 meter, more in the 2 meter to 4.5 meter rnage. Okay, so when you have them say 2.5 to 4.5 meters from you, will you still hear the nasty idle noise / hiss? Moving on, this huge things only has a SINGLE ANALOG INPUT JACK. Yes, it is a 1/4-inch/TRS combo, but you could only use one type.... or the other type... but not both of them simultaneously plugged in. There is no unbalanced input here with an RCA jack. So, the signal input on this thing is pretty basic. Consider the new impressive looking Swissonic X8 3-way monitor which has 3 separate, indvidual inputs: 1/4-inch TRS balanced, XLR balanced, and RCA unbalanced. Huge diff, huh? Moving on, regarding the unit's WEIGHT. I used to be 20 kilograms with the G3 and previous versions, because the triple power amps inside were of the superior Class-AB type. With this Gen4 version of 4 years ago, they switched to Class-D amping, so they shoved off 4 kilograms form the weight. Hmmm.... is that really something good? 6:28 This chap here is the first one I ran across YT who could identify the fatal design flaw of the RP10-3 Gen4. Namely, the cheap Class-D amps and the fact that they are sitting right next to the internal AC-DC power supply / converter, un-isolated, unprotected. No Faraday cage at all. If KRK used an external power brick for AC to DC voltage down-conversion, this might not have been an issue at all. So, if you don't want a noisy, hiss-generating studio monitor for near-field use, you must pass on this one from KRK, sadly. This GEN4 model came out 4 years ago. If KRK would give a hoot, they could have corrected this design flaw years ago. It's just they didn't. Now. as to doing it a do-it-yourself garage rebuild of this thing -- after spending € 800 or $ 900 for them? I would never do that. Outcome is iffy at best, you could do more damage than good, and you would immediately void the KRK mfr's warranty. Cooling of the components here is bad also, there are no passive cooling grilles in the rear, and no active fan. Just not a good design, plus they probably did not use the very best Class-D amps in them, either. They are peddling this same monitor for 4 years now, come on, KRK-Gibson does. Personally, I am likely going instead with the € or $ 50 cheaper Swissonix X8 3-ways that came out in late November 2022 (Swissonic is a house brand of Thomann Music and Thomann Germany), or perhaps with the much higher priced Adam Audio A77H. Swissonic has 3 separate signal inputs, Adam A77H has two. Great review, thank you.

All studio monitors have hiss/noise floor to a degree especially the low price ones. If you'd get professional 1000 euros or more monitors they would have lot lower noise floor. It's not mistake from KRK it is calculated fact that they don't shield it so well as that allows them to produce them at lower cost. Higher quality monitors also use Class A/B amplifiers which have less harsh hiss to ear than Class D amp. I have these speakers as TV speakers at distance of 3 meters and don't hear the hiss at 50% volume on speakers (control the volume on pre amp)

These are on my shortlist but I'm concerned about the audibility of the hiss, I'm not going to be using these very nearfield, do you know from what distance the hiss can be heard? Also, many speakers have been measured accurately over on audiosciencereview but I can't find much about these online though the specs look very good and the bass extension is impressive.

Good video btw.

Faulty, borderline fatal design from the get-go, as even the previous generations of KRK 3-ways (Gen3, Gen2) suffered from it. The AC-DC PS must be right next to the power amps and crossovers physically. If the power supply were placed in a metal housng, i.e. inside of a sealed Faraday Cage, wee might not even be talking. Still, even then the crossovers may also interfere with the D-type amps. You would need to construct a small, sealed Faraday Cage from 1 or 2 mm thickness lead (or steel) laminate and place the PS inside that. And ground is real good. An even safer bet would be to remove the power supply entirely from the cabinet of the speaker. House it in a separate (metal) box, like an external power brick or briquette. And run a simple 2-wire DC power line from that brick into the monitor via shielded cabling. Make sure the external PS is at least 1 to 1.5 meter away. That should work, unless there will be still interference in the RP10-3 between the driver magnets, the 2 crossover boards (LF to MF, and MF to HF, ) and the 3 Class-D amps. Whatever the underlying screw-up is, KRK should have pulled this model and fix its problems. Of course, it took over 2-years for Kali Audio to fix theirs.

I have KRK Rokit 5 G4 and have the same issue with the hiss but not from the speakers: both of my electric guitars pick up this hiss. And there's also a strange thing: sometimes these hiss sounds disappear for like 5-7 minutes and then appear again.
