June 16 seemed like any other day for little Parker Palma. His mother said he was his usual playful self with the exception of a runny nose.

My daughter just had one this morning for the first time and is by far the most terrifying thing I have experienced as a parent so far. I stayed calm and laid her on her side and spoke soft and calm to her until it passed which seemed like forever but I think it only lasted about 15 seconds or so. Me and my wife took her to the ER and they gave her some Zofran for her nausea and Tylenol for her fever she's doing better and napping now. I stayed level headed this whole time but now that everything seems to have calmed down I'm on the verge of tears. In my 32 years of living this has to be the most scared I've ever been in my life.

Happened with my child 2 days ago and is still in hospital under observation. Initially he developed tonsillitis and his temperature started to rise cheeks got a bit red, conditions were a bit hot 27 temp on that day, we took the clothes off and started sponging him - the temperature went above 38 and his eyes started to roll back towards head, he was getting unconscious-as it happened for first time so we got in panic mode - immediately called 000 for ambulance, they kept me on call my wife was already crying the neighbours also heard us and came quickly what happened- as you would not know in such panic what to do CPR, we started it but oh …. May Allah save all children the ambulance came in around 10 min - the episode lasted for approx 15 min — i thought i am going to loose my child he is 19 months our only child .

May we and no parent see a day like this.

My daughter had one yesterday morning and I can agree with everyone in the comments when they say it’s the absolute scariest thing you could ever witness. The crazier part is my daughter is only 2 months old.

My brother and I used to have febrile seizure when we were toddlers. Now, we are fully functioning adults. Now, my son has it too. And it is scary. His heart stopped beating for half a minute after the seizure. I take comfort that hopefully he will outgrow it like in my and my brother's case. Hope this gives a little bit of comfort to worrying parents like me.

My 1yr old toddler had the same thing and is in the hospital right now. Doctors & nurses are ruling out he might have fibrile seizures. Worst, I’m working abroad and I’m too far away from my son. I’m not by his side during his tough time. I’m so helpless😔

I cannot find one single video of a real febrile seizure on the internet. Please someone find one for me. Our son had some type of seizure with a high fever but it wasn’t anything like seizures I’ve seen before. And it was hours AFTER his fever had returned to normal. He had delirium, some hyperventilating and some convulsing. He was not completely in reality but he was aware and reacting to stimuli. His muscles were rigid like a seizure but he could talk, barely. The event lasted about 20-30 minutes and recurred 4 times overnight. EMT’s weren’t there when they occurred.
We had given him ibuprofen and then later acetaminophen per doctor’s orders, but we think he may have had the reaction due to the two medications AND the infection.
Took him to the ER and tested negative for Covid, RSV and strep.
Has seemed normal for the last 2 days.
It was terrifying. I’ve never seen anything like this with the exception of a severe adverse reaction to medication.

My son had 2 febrile seizures back in January when he was 9 months old, he just had one at about 2 in the morning 2 days ago. I’ve never been more of a nervous wreck, they say it’s because of an ear infection and gave him antibiotics but he’s still sick after 2 days and is still running a fever, I have to wake up every 3 hours to give him medicine to try and control it and I think the scariest thing is that I know it could happen at any moment. Not to mention my husband works 3rd shift so I’m by myself at night absolutely terrified

It'll be helpful if they just told us what to do and not to do on this video so we don't have to look it up.

My 1 year old juat had this last night! He was hot to touch so i gave him motrin..within couple of minutes i could hesr his breathing differently. I looked and he was looking up with lifeless look..i picked him up turned on the light but he was not responding but looking at one dot..my heart dropped i woke up my husband called 911 they came started iv, oxygen i was literally crying my eyes out because i was so scared. He came back to normal self in the ER. They watched him closely for hour and a half and let us go. I have 4 children and he is the first one to experience such. He already had a higher fever than 101 so idk why he had this. Im still in shock because I thought he was dying in my arms

My 8 month old daughter had a 2 minute convulsion and it was terrifying. She had a fever of 39.1 and we thought it was from her teething but ended up getting a bug from daycare . I’m trying to figure out if the fever was from daycare or from her teething ? Maybe the lord Yeshua bless and watching every single child ❤

My kid just had one today. One feels so helpless because I couldn’t do anything I didn’t know what was going on thankfully I was able to get emergency services STAT … it’s a horrible feeling. But he’s been discharged and seems to be ok.
