Lyrics:
May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be at your back
May all the rains fall with tenderness
On the fields and forgotten tracks

May your hardened heart be woken
By the soft and distant song
Of all you left here unspoken
All the shards we keep stepping on

Take this body home
Take this body home
Call the wind, and let her know

Take this life outgrown
Take this broken soul
Call the stars, call them all
And take it, high take it far, take it home

May the dark and bitter feelings
Take the path to quiet release
May all your wounds find their healing
In the last and enduring sleep

Take this body home
Take this body home
Call the wind, and let her know

Take this life outgrown
Take this broken soul
Call the stars, call them all
And take it high, take it far, take it home
Take it high, take it far, take it home

Home
Home

Take it high, take it far, take it home
Take it high, take it far, take it home
Oh take it high, take it far, take it home

My mum passed away 2 days ago, she was Irish but lived in England since 1966. She’s going to be cremated and then we’ll be taking her ashes home to Ireland to be scattered. This song is absolutely beautiful and we’ll be playing it and the end of her cremation. Thank you Rose for blessing us with this beautifully appropriate song ❤️

Currently living with a body that's slowly deteriorating with so many aches and pains, and just waiting for everything to end, this song is extremely comforting 🖤

This is the kind of song that would play at the end of one of the Lord of the Rings movies. The essence of the song has the same magic

My best friend of over 50 years died from cancer recently at 65 years old. This was played at his family service last week. He was Irish, and the lyrics describe him well. Thank you, Rose, for the tears and comfort. RIP Wes.

I can so relate as I Know many others can as well, at only 57 my body has betrayed me broken and constant pain, I keep going for my Son, Daughter and my grandson. The three miracles God blessed me with. Im beyond grateful, to have experienced being a Mother, grandmother. They don’t know how tired I am. Much love and blessings everyone.

All the pain and suffering we endure is a constant reminder... we should be grateful for our short time on earth ..and stop and enjoy the little things..Death is all around us but so is life!
I don't have tattoos I have scars ..from fights to gunshot wounds...every day is a blessing for me..

Yesterday we buried a dearest friend and fellow chorister at our church. A very young man of 32 with great potential, only child of his Mother. Sadly no wife nor children 😢😢. This song came to mind while his casket was being lowered to the ground, and I've been singing it in my head all day. So I wanted to come here to listen to it a few times and play it for his spirit 😢😢
