Iscariot means "dagger man" from a group of rebels. Which makes his but even more hilarious . He wasn't lying about "dagger." 😂😅😂😅

Iscariot is Hebrew for "a person from the Kraiot" (which is like a neighborhood)

Maybe the dagger is named after him

Judas: This has been a really nice last supper.
Jesus: Last what?

It most likely comes from the Hebrew word Ish-Krayot, which means town folk. The dagger interpretation is less likely. In any event, his name started to mean "traitor" only after, and because of the biblical story.

He didn't have room for "Petey Sweetie" on the nameplate.

Funny when the producers tailor a prompt specifically for one person

Fun bit of Gnostic history... The Gospel of Judas says that Judas gave Jesus up at His own request. Jesus felt Judas was the only disciple zealot enough to see the prophecy through to its fruition. He didn't trust that the other 11 could keep the message straight, his word true. I'm no believer but I find this take the most relevant.

Judas must've been there when Nero was stabbed to death

Pretty sure the name Iscariot just refers to the place Kerioth.

I know wrong show of theirs but…. Um actually it does not mean dagger Iscariot is a derivative of Greek-Aramaic and means along the lines of choking or constriction.

Judas betrayed Jesus to the Jewish religious authorities.

The Jewish leaders dragged Jesus to a Roman court, and the Romans reacted with "Why should I care about any of this?"

The Romans did not have it out for Jesus whatsoever.

Only once his Jesus's followers started disobeying Roman customs of worship and cruelty did the Romans care about Christianity.
