Managed to open and fix it. There was a small plastic crack inside the speed box. Basically the plastic crack stuck inside the speed controller. Removed the plastic crack and it works."

10 minutes and I've fixed my problem, thanks to you. A Torx T25 screwdriver (or middle ground out of a narrow standard screwdriver as you showed) and a painter's thin steel spatula tool to lever away the sides of the plastic at the clips. These are an inch wide but narrow, flexible and strong and won't mark where the plastics meet up.
P.S. you need not clip off the bottom lugs of the handle, just the 2 each side of the sliding control and the one on the end of the handle gives plenty of room for the little piece of black plastic to escape the inside of the switch box when turned upside down.

Brilliant, a small piece of plastic had broken off and was jamming the switch from reaching the third”turbo” position. Thank you very much

Thank you very much this works. The Torx 25 needs to have a hollow tip.

Thank you for the info. Was not sure how to get the plastic top section off and did not want to force it! Easy once you know how. My switch was also blocked by a broken bit of plastic and I could not see where it came from. Obviously, a common design fault.

Thanks for that fix! I had exactly the same problem and found the rogue piece of plastic. I wonder if it's built in obsolescence!
