In this segment we will review opening the printer box and removing the components.
The printer will arrive inside a sealed box like this one.
It may have a label on it saying what printer is inside.
If the label is not there, proceed anyway. You will be able to verify if you are working with the TM U220B upon opening.
Open the box…
...and see the contents.
A CD of printer drivers;
...a small roll of printer paper;
...the cartridge ribbon;
...and the power cord that connects to the transformer.
Now lift off the packing material...
Take out the transformer cord…
… and finally, the TM U220B Impact printer.
Remove the printer from the protective bag
Lift the tape securing the top of the printer cartridge and paper covers…
...then remove the tape from the sides of the printer that are securing the paper cover.
The next segment will review how these components fit together.
