Model Solar System

This is the completed Eaglemoss Model Solar System from parts that come week by week for a whole year. It's made from brass and is very heavy, with a geared motor in the base. With thanks to David Earle.

This is beautiful. I hope people realize how incredibly hard it would be to get those to spin like that. The work if fine and I'm blown away. Do you mind me asking where you got this? Or did you build it? I know form looking at similar pieces there expensive, I seen a few for 1800 to 4k plus. If you have the design for this and would like to share 🙏 please let me know. Thank you.

I have a question, how did you get all the planets aligned when you started? In mine, all the planets are distributed... I mean, if I try to align them, the gears would also move 😩
I'm doing it wrong??

It’s going backwards! In this model, the sun would rise in the west, and set in the east.

Shouldn't the planets be moving counterclockwise?

Very nice these. Though the planets should be turning anti-clockwise around the sun…and the moon anti-clockwise around the earth also, just for a bit more accuracy of course!

Did you paint your "Eris" dwarf planet (Mars and Jupiter)? I did as well. Its light great with tons of bright blue-ish white/flourescent blue dots. Yours looks great either way! I also painted my Pluto and its moon Charon. Eris and Pluto were the only ones (on mine) that weren't the right color as the real thing, and the ones that are correct are fucking siiiick! They even have the red storm on Jupiter! Also, Uranus' moon axis is oriented in a manner that indicates this planet/moon are on the correct perpendicular axis to the planetary elliptical plane.

I have the exact same model, just waiting on some issues to arrive, but i noticed the moon on the earth was bent just like in this video . Also my model, the moons of some planets arnt as chromed at the others, do you know if this is due to oxidizing, and how do i fix it ?
