Daniel Craig Thinks Idris Elba Would Make a Fantastic James Bond

HipHollywood caught up with Daniel Craig in Mexico City for the press junket for Spectre and asked if Idris Elba would make a great James Bond.

Absolutely he could. Look, people didn't think Craig could do it because he didn't look the part. But showed everyone they were wrong and has owned the role ever since. Elba is a great actor and could bring something new to the character. There are have been plenty of times where ethnicity of the character was ignored and another ethnicity was cast, and they were almost always white. So, it's pretty hypocritical so to say he wouldn't be right for the part because he's black.

Bond was never described as being a blue-eyed, blonde-haired guy, and there was a HUGE public outcry when Daniel Craig was first cast as him back in 2006, to which everyone immediately shut the fuck up the moment Casino Royale came out and they realized that he was a great Bond despite being completely different in appearance from how he was depicted in the novels. Idris is handsome, well-liked, recently rated as the best looking guy in the world, has the suave demeanor and personality that would perfectly encapsulate the character... He is perfect for Bond, no matter what his skin tone.

if they go a similar route to military backgrounds like they did with craigs bond i think it would be perfect, idris has that gentleman's looking appeal crossed with the roughness and toughness feel you would get with someone who was in the special boat service, it just fit perfect in my eyes.

idris elba would be great for james bond because he is 1 an amazing actor and could take up any role and be fucking brilliant at it 2 because he is the perfect brief for james bond: big, british, classy, middle aged ( not old though, like 35 to 45 is the right age for james) and he is so smooth and classy.

If I recall correctly, the Bond of the novels was an outsider, despite his Eton education, because he was a scholarship boy and not really from the upper class. Being black would be a great way to get back to that "not quite one of us" feel in the original character...

I'm a big fan of Idris, but I wouldn't like to see him as Bond. For me it's the same as having a white cast for Gods of Egypt or Christian Bale playing Moses.. it just doesn't feel right.

The Bond franchise had a black Moneypenny and a black Felix Leiter, so why can't the franchise have a black James Bond? I would like to see Idris Elba play the famous spy.

idres could totally play dond. he is british, well spoken, middle aged and handsome and he is a good actor so yeah he should get the part. bond's look was changed once so they can change it again, this also might get more people to watch it and expand the audience.
