I tried understanding the concept before, and even with all the knowledge, it still wouldn't click in my head, until just now. Something in the way you explained it finally helped me wrap my head around it all. Thanks! Not to mention, the video itself was gorgeous!

I gotta thank you a lot! I know nothing about computers, but I’m in a cybercrime class and this video helped me a hundred times more than the book has.

As a long time software developer, I certainly didn't need to watch this... However, I wanted to see how effective/comprehensive your explanation was. Top marks, friend... Excellent breakdown for those brand new to these concepts. I wouldn't have changed a single thing. It's an extremely relevant and important concept to know...as well.

This is awesome! Simple yet comprehensive. I needed this explanation. As a printer I work in the world of spot pantone and cmyk. So many designers are working across mediums and want answers as to why print doesn't match screens, signage, etc.. I can explain RGB, now can explain HEX.

Thanks so much man. Looking at the hex code of a game last night, I was perplexed as to what it meant. You're a good teacher. Again, thanks a lot, really well explained!

This is so helpful, thank you. I do a lot of video colour correction in FCP using the RGB system, so I already had an idea, when starting to use photoshop for my little funsies, of certain things I can do to colour correct an image. In FCP, the middle is 255, so increasing or lowering the amount is what adds or removes red, blue, or green. However, the FCP scales are more like Red vs Cyan, Green vs Magenta, and Blue vs Yellow. In Photoshop, I had noticed similarities, but I still didn't quite get it. I did start to notice a pattern when I selected colours and wrote down their numbers but had never studied them or understood why some had letters and some did not. Now I get it. I can understand more technically something I can naturally do just by eye: Colour Correction. And I'm pretty sure this knowledge can be transfered over to FCP to help me expand some of my knowledge and skills. I'm not good at math lol so I might make myself a chart of my 10 to 15 times table. As an exercise, I can find a colour and then calculate how much RGB is in it, and then do the reverse, decide on a colour I want to get, try to figure out how much RGB I need to achieve it, and then attempt to code the colour and see how close what I get is to what I had in mind. 🤗 Oh, this is going to be so much fun.
