I'm still confusing why intel cuts the treads hyperthreading in 9400f. 10400f seems like the same chip but with hyperthreading the single-core results are equal

If you want a good cpu for a good price the i5-10400f is the way to go

the 10400f is one of my favourite processors but idk why people in my country never suggest it and instead just tell everyone to take the 3500x

built a 10400f paired with a 2070super for a friend 2 years back with 32gb ram and corsair rm750x, its still working insanely good, he's changing gpu to a 3080-4070 anytime and i dont doubt for a second that the 10400f will handle it more than fine in 1440p.

At that time it was the best cpu on the market for gamers.

Thanks for the comparison. What cooling system have you used for each CPU? Was the stock cooler for both of them?

not that big fps difference, but because 9400f has high usage i will buy 10400. z490 is a bit more expensive than z390 but not that big difference, about 18$ plus, but i can upgrade later to 10900k or 11 gen, and less usage. also bit more fps

I had a lot of Intel and AMD chips. From Pentium to Athlon, from Core i to Ryzen. Speaking sorely about Core i5, I've owned 1st and 2nd gen, i5-3470 and i5-4440 (very good CPU's for it's time), i5-7400 (lame 7th gen quad), i5-9400F (great six core), and now I have i5 10400F. This last one as shown in the video, has incredibly performance, both in single-thread and multithread applications. For those saying there were no increase in IPC (instructions per cycle, single core) for the i5-10400 you're wrong. Watch the video again and you'll see the fps difference in favor of Comet-Lake architecture. The 100MHz increase in all core boost plus the refinement and Hyper-Threading has helped a great deal, making it future proof.

10400f is worth the price as it has more threads the cpu usage is half of 9400f. 10400 is also future proof for the same reason

Good tests but some high settings also use cpu

So the 9400f is bottlenecking the rtx 3060 ti on these low settings... If you increase the video settings the bottleneck disappears but then you have lower frame rate (under 100 fps) generally.

Hi, just a random comment. What shooter do you recommend for my father to play? He enjoys easy/moderate run and shoot type games in singleplayer campaign(like Sniper Elite, Battlefield), he don't care about the story. He played the Battlefield series and Sniper Elite series. I was thinking at Sniper Ghost Contracts, Metro Exodus, Wolfenstein II The New Colossus. So which one from these or do you have other suggestion? I tried to make him play RDR2 but he quited in few mins, the gameplay is too hard for him and the aray of keys too, and he don't know much english, he skip the story, so rdr2 is definetly not for him.
