Clarification cause i saw somone explain it: the parents probably explained to him that pink means girl & blue means boy. So he sees the color pink and goes "girl"(cause a lot of children pronounce girl like the "gold" we hear) so the little boy goes "girl". Then the parents are like "what's the other color". And well the other color that was explained to him was "blue" so he sad blue😄 He's not making jokes. He is actually pretty smart

When he said “girl” and it sounded like gold, his mom said, pick the other color (because the cake was a gold color and she thoughts that’s what he was referring to) so consequently, he chose the other color out of pink and blue and said blue because his initial “girl” was shot down!!

So the parents briefed him before hand: pink=girl and blue=boy. So, when he saw the color pink he actually said “girl” not gold (the r is hard to pronounce for young children).
His parents thought he said gold and asked for the other color. Confused, the little boy said the ‘other color’ they told him about “blue” or like most young children, he is repeating the last word they said because they’re asking him a question he doesn’t know the answer to.

I saw an analysis of this video where they said the boy likely said GIRL and not GOLD. For kids his age, apparently they tend to struggle with the IRL sound so when they say girl, it tends to sound like gold. If this is true, it's very smart then he made the connection of pink meaning a girl.
