I always thought they were “cool”, but never made it a priority to get one until recently. After getting one in hand (tanto s/e), I saw the light and it became my edc. That was a month ago. I now have the UT, a CT Hellhound, and another UT double-edge (distressed) on the way. They’re tougher and way more capable than I ever gave them credit for. Only problem is I now have a Microtech addiction.

I just bought a black ultratech in magnacut and I'm binging all microtech videos until it arrives.

Just ordered mine, black on black, straight, s/e. If the combat troodon ever goes down in price I'd be tempted to get the d/e. Thanks for the review.

I carry mine every day. It’s a work knife for me also, and will only look better with wear.

My first microtech was a LUDT and it's been amazing. Im a carpenter building modular homes. Lots of knife use. And that thing is a tank. Awesome to open and even close being auto. I have a ultratech on the way in the same color red I wanted as the LUDT. I got lucky I got what I wanted. I do use my ludt alot but some other tough ass knives are Spyderco I have about 10 or 12 some of them have went through some abuse and still look like new. I carry a few Benchmades and civivis for work I switch it up quite often. I do like the feeling of beating on my 50-100 Civivi then my 2-350 dollar mictrotechs and Spyderco

This’ll be the first microtech I get. Hopefully in an earth tone over black. All of them are out of stock right now😂

Subbed! Awesome video! Been waiting on someone to make a video on a microtech ultratech that they actually use every day in construction. The wear is looking good! Please keep us updated on wear & use. You've encouraged me to carry mine to work now. Thanx!

For microtech OTF series knives, do I have to use anti rust oil every time if the knife gets dirty or if water gets into the handle after washing the knife after cutting fruit? Thank you.

Really want one for myself. One question, does the glass breaker get in the way or bother you? When it's clipped on your pocket and you reach in to pull out something other than the knife itself?

I’m pretty torn because I love the black finish on the blade but the apocalyptic finish would probably show wear less since I would be using it as a daily knife. Decisions!

Not sure if I’m just paranoid, but I cut the flaps off one box at work with my brand new UTX 70 and I swear the blade got a bit looser. That or just seems like it because all I had done before that is cut a few bags open?

As much as l like the d/e for edc I’m torn between a single or compromise with a bayonet style

My buddy got me hooked on this fantastic (his is clay colored) OTF. It's steel blade is non-serrated with one side sharp. I have a black (MT-12210); it's a double edge (DE), steel dagger and its blade looks better once fired than the EDC shaped one (the sharp angles don't seem to match the knife; it's TOO angular and looks strange relative to the dagger shape. It's a fantastic knife and more fun than my Benchmade Barrage 581 and a blast to fiddle with. Is it the most practical choice? No, but I feel pretty safe walking my dog at night and it's become my EDC. If you're on the fence here, pull the trigger - you won't regret it. I know it's stupid expensive but it's the most gratifying knife I've ever bought. Also, a glass breaker at the passive end?! Are you kidding me?!

“Practical “. That’s the word you were looking for.

In hindsight would you have stayed with the ultratech or gone with the UTX 85 for edc?

Definitely would like to see an update on how it's holding up! Put off buying one for the same reason you did but I've seen tortured in a few videos recently and they've held up
