I got $$ for unused days. Also at that point I would simply refuse to move.

We have to have a doctor's note for anything more than 5 consecutive absences. A teacher couldn't use 16 days in a row without actually being ill. I'd have just told admin "no" to the move. They can't make you move. Hopefully the union would back you up.

In my state, if you have enough days saved, you can get credit for an extra year. I'm saving those days

My mom turned her time into money in an investment account that works like an HSA. But she did retire secretly through the district, and only told her principal at lunch the Friday before winter break that it was her last day. (He had burnt up respect like it was going out of style.)

I just retired this past school year, and I started packing up my personal stuff about two weeks early. If I were that teacher, I'd have simply packed up all my personal property and taken it home 16 days early. So the only things being moved would be school property, and the custodians can do that. It's not like I'd be doing any major tasks those last 16 days anyway. A few exams and maybe grading some late work from students.

If you don’t use your days they pay you out . So if she uses her days she looses the chance to double dip in a way

I was made to move classroom the last 10 days of school for....I can't make this up...ISS aka in school suspension. Last I checked, speech is a federally mandated program. I found that room fair and square.

We, old teachers, were told save them because when you retire they will pay you for them...yeah...not so now.

Teachers unions basically don't exist in texas. You probably wouldn't even get paid if you used those days in texas.
