Russia is very socially conservative. I’m Russian myself but I could never live there, there’s no LBGT freedom whatsoever and everyone’s mentality is something from the 60’s. But I know there are people who want things to change, and I just hope that someday maybe they can.

I once performed in St.Petersburg for a week and there was this Korean theatrical group performing some drama where the story involves a guy confessing and kissing to a guy and guess what? The organizer stopped them amidst the play in fear of audience/authority backlash and apologizing to everyone because of such scene.

Guys, I'm from Russia, and i feel very ashamed and upset to live in lgbtq-phobic country. I have many friends from LGBTQ community, there's no more kind and warmest person, but them. And from all normal people, who loves people no matter of who you are, i want to say sorry. And I love you. No matter of who you are.

I can feel for Sasha, although I am 2nd generation Romanian-Canadian, this hatred and confusion still runs in Romania, I may never be able to truly show who I really am to my grandparents just to keep our connection intact. Im so blessed to have my mother who has my back 100% and understands my frustration.

i live in a country that's very similar to russia in terms of how the cistizens treat gay and trans people. the media actually constantly reports positive news about the lgbt community in order to raise acceptance in the country, but nobody bothers to educate themselves and keeps on throwing homophobic/transphobic slurs and wishing death upon those different from them.. as a gay person, i don't see a future for myself in my country.
