MOST Important Aircraft Trainers of ALL TIME - AT6 Texan 'The Pilot Maker'

The AT-6 airplane, known as the “Texan,” was one of the most important aircraft trainers of all time. Used to train several hundred thousand pilots in 34 different countries over a period of 25 years and it remains a popular warbird aircraft used for airshow demonstrations. The North American T-6 Texan was known as “the pilot maker” because of its important role in preparing pilots for combat. Approximately 16,000 variant T-6 trainers were built by North American and other manufacturers between 1937 and the early 1950s. This short video shows a North American AT6 Texan taking part in the Swiss Airshow around the Stanserhorn in Central Switzerland.
