You can only take good care of someone else if you take good care of yourself. In this video, one woman describes the physical and emotional toll caring for someone with advanced Parkinson’s disease can take. She also shares how she encouraged her mother to not be a martyr and to pay attention to her own health as she was providing care for her loved one with Parkinson’s.

Seriously?  It's "OK to take care of yourself"?  That sentiment and three million dollars might actually allow me to "take care" of myself.  We are spending our life savings to hire caregivers for the days that I work and a few hours a week on the days I don't work so I can run errands, walk the dog, etc.  I can get done what I need to but not a smidgen more and even this is unsustainable. And I am NOT a martyr and I don't feel guilty if I try to take care of myself and I am still relatively young (YOPD for my husband), so I have SOME energy and actually have it easy for now.    But fun?  Enough sleep?  Enough money?  Seriously?
