This change could bring YouTube back into the gold rush like it was before 2012

i feel like the algorithm has had a massive issue over the past few years where it just shows you the same videos you've already watched over and over again, it's super annoying

Watch time is very important to those of us looking to get monetized. Honestly, I’m not worried about it. But it’s still important to those of us who need that requirement.

As a new creator brand, this is very important information because The impression that you get, is that video watch time is more important and it's good to hear that that actually is not going to be true from here on out. Excellent news!

I have noticed newer smaller channels on my home feed, right up there with the big ones. Since July I've had people comment that they just found my channel and where have I been hiding lol My goals are to keep people watching while giving them useful and inspiring videos. I'm building a community, and that doesn't necessarily mean subscribers. I tend to encourage conversation in the comments because I truly enjoy "talking" with my viewers. Hope this all makes sense.

My journey as a content creator has been amazing. Knowing that YT is looking out for the new up-and-coming creator is helpful and gratifying. Great, content is the key! Thanks for this supportive and informal vid. Awesome Saucy!

Will the algorithm favor channels with over 100K subs?

Thanks for the info. Very useful! It's frustrating though that youtube is saying watch hours aren't that important anymore, but they're still requiring 4000 watch hours for monetization, so it's still very important for many of us.

I'm feeling much more satisfied after hearing this important and exciting news! This has me rethinking that my channel can reach 7, 500+ subs, my 2nd channel 2, 000+, and my newest channel (created 2 days ago) will reach 1, 000 +! Now it's just a matter of getting all of the ideas shot, edited, and uploaded. 😎

This team that's focused on finding videos to show from new/small creators will go a long way in encouraging those channels to keep going and stick with it, and not worry as much about the huge channels drowning them out. Great video.

Having the background in Economics, honestly the best part of having the a small youtube channel is to me able to analyze the algorithms. It is all about numbers!
