Hüsker Dü - Metal Circus (Private Remaster) 02 Deadly Skies

This news was so exciting I dug out "Warehouse" and "Metal Circus" and got down to a couple of private remasters... Yes, another Hüsker Dü revamp! See, their catalogue is begging for it!

Anyway, here is what I came up with. Better? Worse? You judge...

Bob, Grant, Greg, I truly hope you put my attempts to shame with wonderfully remastered (and expanded!) reissues of your legacy! Please keep it together behind the scene with all the legal gibberish I'm sure your team are going to have to work through...

I definitely like your enhanced mix here more than the original CD mix - the drums in particular seem to have a fair bit more pop to them, and stand out more in the mix. Guitar has noticeably more bite to it, too. It's a shame that the back catalogue of such a wonderful, transcendent band might never get the careful and deliberate professional remastering job it deserves... I appreciate you taking the time to give us the next best thing, though!

I think the “Metal Circus” EP was probably the best recorded sound they ever got, so not sure this needs a remaster. Sounds good though. If anything, the record that most needs a remaster -or better yet full remixing- is “New Day Rising”! Pretty much every record these guys did is musically great but needs upgrading of sound quality. Metal Circus was the cleanest and most full ranged, recording-wise.
