Have you ever reeled in a fish so big that your drag just went silent? Well that's apparently what happened to this Shakespeare GX-240 reel. I was reeling in a snook and it just went silent after that. This was a quick fix, not a repair. If you have broken or missing parts then this won't work. I did find some videos on how to make DIY clickers and they sound pretty good.

I never thought I would need this but my reel has gone quiet and I needed it fixed

I've just found that barely unscrewing the screw that the spring connects to brought my sound back. The spring wouldn't go back into position after the spring flexed.

Also while you have the reel open, you might as well give it a good cleaning...👍
