CNG cars are better in mileage then petrol cars but the companies & govt are playing monopoly in this market. At one point they are requesting to use CNG cars & on the other end they are not giving RC approval for after market kits. So if someone wants to buy a maruti Ciaz which is mild hybrid & want to convert to CNG then the person will not be able to get rc approval which will eventually lead to insurance issues. Also companies are forcing people to buy CNG cars which lack a lot of features even after paying more money. & only companies fitted CNG cars approved on RC.
Also on a note that I have been using Swift dzire since 13 years with after market cng kit. Slightly feels less powered but the mileage is even above 25 KM/KG.

You get a worse driving experience with cng. Lower power, torque hence lower 0-100 numbers. Petrol engines are more refined too. CNG is for chindi people who dont care about quality.
