Rest in peace, Andre. I hope dreams of large women came true for you.

Everybody that has a story about Andre, they always mention what a sweet guy he was.

Had the honor of meeting Andre several times in the early 70s when he often wrestled in Montreal. We teenagers would hang around the arena's side door (Verdun Aud.) where the wrestlers entered, hoping to carry their bags for them as a way to get a free pass to the show. Andre would always smile, shake our puny hands with his incredible paws, hand us his bags and we'd follow him in. (same with Edouard Carpentier and the Vachon Brothers, but Black Jack Mulligan and Killer Kowalski were always nasty).

I love how Andre called everyone he liked “Boss”. You hear about it when wrestlers talk about him, but here we see it wasn’t restricted to wrestling.

All Rob had to do here is mention, "The cliffs of Insanity" and I smiled real big as I chuckled! "The Princess Bride" is my favorite movie of all time. I can hear the Sicilian berating Andre as they climb the Cliffs Of Insanity.

One of the best and most original movies. Andre was so big he made his own gravity.

“It’s not like you throw a stick and hit fifty giants!”😂

One would be hard-pressed to come up with films that inspired such intense cultural love and affection as 'The Princess Bride' did. 'Wizard of Oz', sure. 'The Goonies' maybe. 'The Lion King' absolutely. But, they are RARE!

Who would have thought all those years ago that Meathead would become a AAA movie director?

No exaggeration, Andre could knock a man down with a fart. I saw it happen with my own eyes at a bar in NYC in the 80s.

Wrestling is not a sport, but the wrestlers are most definitely athletes.

1:04 calling Vince McMahon, you can imagine how that conversation went, Rob Reiner: Hello, is this Mr. McMahon?
Vince: GODAMMN PAL IS THAT THE MEATHEAD??

"It's not like you throw a stick and hit a giant..."

"You were supposed to be this Colossus. You were this great legendary thing, and yet he gains!
Well I'm carrying three people, and he got only himself.
I will not accept excuses I'm just going to have to find myself a new Giant, that's all."

I remember when those chairs were at Restoration Hardware. They had a matching desk.

If Andre called you "Boss" it's because he deeply respected you.
