Haha, I like both versions - for more - Lana just has a haunting voice that is very different from Taylor's, making it an interesting listen. For the og - i think Lana just brings a lot of atmosphere to the song.

I’m the odd duck out here, but I prefer the original version of Snow on the Beach (which I’ve loved since Midnights came out!). I was never invested in a Lana/Taylor collaboration so it didn’t bother me that her presence on the original track was more atmospheric than anything else. I also don’t think collaborators need to get a verse on a song unless it makes sense for the song. SotB isn’t a song that sounds like it comes from multiple perspectives so I actually find it weird to have a second person take another verse. Not necessarily bad weird, but kind of disruptive from a narrative standpoint. That’s a minor quibble though. I mostly just don’t like how Taylor’s and Lana’s voices come together on that verse. Lana sounds great, but I don’t like the changes made in the way Taylor sang her part of that verse to meet Lana where she is. It sounds like she’s singing in Lana drag and while this isn’t the first time she’s done that, it doesn’t work as well for me when you have the real Lana right there! There are some production changes in the song (especially in the outro) that also just don’t do it for me.

I don’t hate this version, but it’s not the version I’m ever likely to choose when I want to hear SotB!

Neither version is a top song on midnights for me personally, but I do return more often to the ‘more Lana’ version

I like both versions. When I heard the song the first time, I was a little disappointed there wasn't more Lana, but I accepted it because most of her female collaborators are in the background. However, I do love the production on the original. Meanwhile, I love Lana's vocals on the More Lana Del Rey version. My only complaint in it doesn't have the "it's coming down" outro, but I found a version on YouTube that has that.

The original one is my favorite. The second one with more lana, her voice doesn’t work with any artist. She has proven that time and time again with The Weeknd, Miley Cyrus, Ariana grande and now Taylor. Lana just shouldn’t collaborate with anyone.
