The unit of 'k' is {rad/length} or simply 1/{length}. k represent the number of wavelengths in a unit of distance of 2pi (nm). Ex: if k = 4 nm^-1; means that there are 4 wavelengths in a length of 2pi nm; in other words, the wavelength is pi/2 nm (or pi/2 rad/nm)
