If they’re stored on their sides, the gas from the can will expand and escape faster than if the can were stored on its end – this could lead to an explosion.

The idea is nice but the execution is sloppy and amateurish.
There are much more elegant and aesthetic ways to connect all the pipes together.
Definitely don't tie them with a strap and hang them on the wall.

Or you can use a hanging shoe organizer. Cans will be stored upright, as they are supposed to be.
