No. 12 - Animato - Played in G minor.Each of the 24 Preludes is a little self-contained character piece with a compelling inner unity and a specific expressive note. Also Ponce limited his pieces to only a few bars, he handled the motivic material with amazing diversity, built up and released tension, developed climaxes - and yet he always arrived a well balanced statement in a uniqe and personal musical idiom.
